CURRENT SEASON :

The ‘M’ Game: An Exploration of Shakespeare’s Macbeth

Adapted and Directed by Julianne Just

M is for Monarch. M is for Manipulation. M is for Murder. M is for Macbeth.  Amongst war, death, and questions of responsibility, with families broken apart, expenses, and people dying, many want to point a finger, search frantically for a scapegoat, we all want to blame someone … but who?  The 'M' Game is an exploration of Shakespeare's Macbeth. Playing with text, plot and characters, using sound and movement and framing it all in an indistinct time period, the production will examine self-determination and manipulation versus fate and predetermination as it relates to Macbeth's rapid rise to power and then his subsequent and equally as rapid fall. Using the characters of Lady Macbeth and the witches in an untraditional manner the goal of The 'M' Game is to force audiences to rethink their notions of responsibility as it relates to Macbeth, the state of the nation, and even their own actions.
